“That was so fun!” a young man, who is also a student at Spring Valley Academy, was overheard saying to his mother on the phone after school this week. The event he was referencing was none other than the “SVA / Casa de Oro Alliance Community Clean-Up Day” that occurred last Saturday, February 1st.

LMSV staff joined together to ensure that over 700 students and families received gifts this holiday season.
Teachers from LMSV gathered during Thanksgiving Break at the Reading Cinemas in Grossmont Center to enjoy the new film “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.”
Teachers and administrators from Russia and Asia visited Rancho Elementary School to learn about best practices to support English language learners.
We are excited to share that EAK classes will open at Maryland Elementary, Murray Manor Elementary, Loma Elementary, Casa de Oro Elementary, Avondale Elementary and La Presa Elementary on January 7, 2020. Children can be profoundly impacted by dysfunction, crisis, and trauma in their family as well as in the community as a whole. While on a school campus, it is often students’ friends who are the first to know something is bothering a classmate. This is where Maryland Avenue Elementary’s partnership with City Hope comes in.
