Welcome

2024-2025 School Year: Watch Us Grow!

Maryland Avenue Elementary School is a vibrant garden where students are nurtured and learning is cultivated. Just as a garden requires careful tending, our school has dedicated teachers and staff to foster growth and development.

  • The fertile soil: Our supportive learning community provides the rich foundation for students to thrive.
  • Seedlings: Our young students are seeds of potential, with their own unique personalities, talents, and knowledge.
  • Nurturing sunshine: Our teachers are the warm sunlight that encourages growth and learning in academics and social emotional skills.
  • Colorful blooms: Our students blossom into their unique selves with confidence and vibrance.

Just as a gardener tends to their plants with dedication, our teachers and staff will cultivate a supportive and enriching environment for every student. Let’s work together to create a beautiful garden of learning at Maryland Avenue Elementary!

With gratitude,

Stephanie Starr, Principal

Student Safety

School safety of our Maryland Avenue students a top priority. We ask that all visitors enter the school through the front office and check in for the safety of all of our students. The front gate will remain locked during school hours. Thank you for understanding about the need for security for all of our students.

Be involved in your child’s education!

There are many ways to get involved at Maryland Avenue. Joining the PTA is a great way to begin. Your small donation helps provide many opportunities for our children. You can also turn in a Volunteer Opportunities form to let the PTA know what areas or activities you’d like to be involved in. Lending a helping hand by volunteering in your child’s classroom another way to share your talents.

The most important way that you can get involved is to simply stay informed about what is happening at school and in the classroom. Please make a point of meeting and keeping in touch with your child’s teacher. We must work together to ensure that our children do the very best they possibly can.

Peace Builder Program

Maryland Avenue is a proud Peace Builder School. We begin each day with Peace Circle where we recite our Peace Builder Pledge and praise students who have demonstrated Peace Builder behavior. Students learn the Peace Builder Pledge in Kindergarten and use it throughout their time here at Maryland Avenue.
