On Saturday, November 17, Casa de Oro Elementary School in Spring Valley was flooded with volunteers, ready to help make the campus more welcoming, safe, and attractive. Employees, friends, families, and community members from long-time partner Faith Chapel spent the day cleaning the garden, planting succulents, and repairing the irrigation. According to principal Dana James, “Volunteers also picked up trash all over campus and rehung many of our outside banners.
They upgraded the staff lounge with two heated massage chairs, a mini fridge, and throw rugs. Several Insta-Pots and mini-vacuums were generously donated, which will be used for a staff raffle. It was a wonderful day!” Parents and students were thrilled to see the updates when they returned from Thanksgiving break. Teachers and staff were especially appreciative of the donated recliners. The District is grateful for the generous contributions of time, hard work, and materials to enhance the Casa de Oro campus.
